2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing our website or contacting us with an enquiry, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement, and agree to these Terms in full. If you do not agree, please do not use this website or contact us with a services request.
3. Website Use
The content published on this website is provided for informational purposes only. It does not constitute legal advice and does not create a solicitor-client relationship. The information may not reflect the most current legal developments in Singapore and should not be relied upon without independent legal counsel.
You agree not to use this website:
- In any way that breaches applicable law or regulation in Singapore or your jurisdiction
- To transmit unsolicited commercial communications
- To attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our systems
- To reproduce, copy, or distribute our website content without prior written permission
4. Legal Services Engagement
A solicitor-client relationship is established only upon execution of a formal engagement letter and, where applicable, receipt of any required payment or deposit. Submitting an enquiry through our contact form does not constitute the commencement of a legal matter or create any obligation on either party.
All engagements are subject to a separate written agreement that specifies the scope of work, timeline, fees, and any specific terms applicable to that matter.
5. Service Descriptions
The service descriptions and pricing on this website represent typical arrangements and starting figures. Actual scope and cost depend on the specific circumstances of each matter, which are determined at the time of engagement. We will confirm all relevant details in writing before work commences.
Services described are available to eligible individuals in Singapore. Eligibility for specific services (such as Name Change Applications, which are available to citizens and permanent residents) will be confirmed during the intake process.
6. Fees and Payment
Fees are quoted in Singapore Dollars (SGD). The specific fee for your matter will be set out in your engagement letter. Where payment in advance or a deposit is required, this will be confirmed before work begins.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, invoices are payable within 14 days of issue. Late payment may result in suspension of work on your matter. Our refund policy is set out in your engagement letter and varies by service type.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, structure, design, and graphical elements — is the intellectual property of Brenwick or its licensors. You may view and print content for personal, non-commercial reference only. No other reproduction, distribution, or commercial use is permitted without prior written consent.
Documents and advice prepared by Brenwick for a specific engagement remain subject to copyright. The client receives a licence to use those materials for the purpose for which they were prepared, but not to reproduce or distribute them for other purposes.
8. Confidentiality
Brenwick treats all client communications and case information as confidential in accordance with the Law Society of Singapore's professional rules. We will not disclose your information to third parties except where required by law, with your consent, or to the extent necessary to conduct your legal matter (such as filing documents with a court).
9. Disclaimers
The website and its content are provided on an "as is" basis. We do not warrant that the information is complete, accurate, or up to date. Legal information published online has limitations and should not substitute for qualified legal advice tailored to your situation.
Brenwick does not make representations about the outcome of any legal matter. Results depend on many factors, including court decisions, the conduct of other parties, and the specific facts of each case.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law, Brenwick's liability for any claim arising from use of the website (as distinct from an active services engagement) is limited to SGD 100. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages arising from your use of or inability to use this website.
Liability in connection with legal services engagements is governed by your engagement letter and applicable professional indemnity requirements.
11. Termination
You may terminate your use of this website at any time. We may suspend or restrict access to the website if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms.
In relation to a legal services engagement, either party may terminate as set out in the engagement letter. Professional obligations may affect our ability to immediately cease acting in certain circumstances.
12. Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. In the event of a dispute arising from the use of this website, both parties agree to first attempt informal resolution by written notice. If unresolved within 30 days, the matter may be referred to the courts of Singapore, which have exclusive jurisdiction.
Disputes relating to a legal services engagement are governed by the relevant engagement letter and applicable Law Society dispute resolution procedures.
13. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These Terms constitute the complete agreement between you and Brenwick in relation to website use, and supersede any prior communications on that subject.
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.
- No Waiver: Failure to enforce any provision at any time does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
- Assignment: You may not assign any rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time by updating this page. The "Last Updated" date reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the website after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
