Our Story
How Brenwick came to be
Brenwick was established in 2011 by a small group of practitioners who had spent years in larger firms and noticed something: clients frequently left appointments feeling less clear than when they arrived. Legal work was being done thoroughly, but the experience of being a client was often unnecessarily opaque.
The practice was set up to address that directly. Not by simplifying the work — legal matters are as complex as they are — but by investing as much care in how work is communicated as in how it is executed. Every client engagement at Brenwick begins with a clear scope, a realistic timeline, and an open line of communication throughout.
We chose to focus on three practice areas where that approach makes the most difference: sports and entertainment law, where personalities and stakes are often high; anti-harassment protection, where clients are frequently distressed; and name change applications, where clients simply need a well-managed process without unnecessary complexity.
"Legal work done well isn't just about the outcome — it's about understanding the situation clearly, acting with care, and keeping the client informed at every step."
— Brenwick founding principle

What Shapes Us
Values and expertise at the core
Brenwick operates in practice areas where the quality of client care has real consequences. In sports and entertainment law, the details of a contract can shape an athlete's career for years. In protection order matters, how a practitioner handles the initial conversation can determine whether a client feels capable of moving forward. In name change applications, a disorganised process creates unnecessary stress around an already personal decision.
These realities shape everything about how the practice operates — from how we scope engagements to how we communicate throughout, and how we close matters with clients who have a clear picture of where things stand.
Singapore's legal and regulatory landscape is specific, and familiarity with its structures — the Protection from Harassment Act, the Legal Profession Act, the Singapore Academy of Law frameworks, the particular dynamics of Singapore's sports and entertainment sector — informs how we approach each matter.
Brenwick draws on more than a decade of Singapore-based legal work across its practice areas, combined with a firm preference for honest, measured client communication over legal jargon that obscures more than it clarifies.
